Creative Thinking Games

Unusual Uses of Objects

We explain the exercise to (pre)schoolers as follows:

''We learn to use the various objects in a specific way. Because we get used to doing it, we cannot use the same objects in other ways or for other purposes.
e.g. We cannot easily think that BLOCK is not only about 1. a material for building houses, but also 2. a dumbbell, 3. a chair, 4. α case for pencils, etc.
Tell me, now, how else can we use a CHAIR? an UMBRELLA? a BLANKET? a NAPKIN? ''

ATTENTION!

We present 'open' objects to kids, so they can think of multiple uses.
We keep their imagination in realistic, rather than excessive or unrealistic, uses

Fantastic Affairs

We explain the exercise to (pre)schoolers as follows:

''All humans live and act as we act, for that is how we are made.
e.g. because we have ears and can hear, we can 1. hear the alarm, 2. learn the language, 3. enjoy beautiful songs, etc.
Think, however, what would happen if we were differently made. It's something that will make you fun.
What would happen, if all people were blind?
What would happen, if we suddenly became small, but the things around us remained the same?
If you had a magic machine, what would you like to make & why? ''

ATTENTION!

Hypothetical situations must be 'open', leaving room for a variety of responses
Hypothetical situations must be such that specialized knowledge is not required (e.g. what would happen, if we had a deficiency of sodium).
