Teaching Staff

Michail Chrysos                  Teacher-PsychoEducator (B.A., M.Ed. PhD)

Mr. Chrysos is a graduate of the National-Kapodistrian University of Athens (Faculty of Philosophy-Department of Philology) with postgraduate studies in Curriculum & Instruction at McGill University (Montreal-Canada), and holds a PhD in Education (Educational Psychology area) from the National-Kapodistrian University of Athens (Faculty of Education-Department of Primary Education). 

He also holds a diploma in Special Education from the National-Kapodistrian University of Athens (Faculty of Philosophy-Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology), and he is a certified Adults Trainer (E.O.P.P.E.P.) for vocational training centers and institutions.

He has worked as an educator in many schools throughout Greece and abroad. He has been a director for training people with special needs as well as a parents-teachers counselor in schools or other sectors. He actively participates in conferences and workshops, he has written extensively and he is a member of Greek and international scientific organizations. He is responsible for the scientific coordination of our programs, especially language literacy and motivation for learning.

 

Konstantinos Nikolopoulos                 Physics Teacher – Educational Technology specialist 

Mr. Nikolopoulos is a graduate of the National-Kapodistrian University of Athens (Faculty of Science-Department of Physics with postgraduate studies in Educational Technology at the University of Nicosia. 

He has rich teaching experience in science teaching at secondary schools, while recently he is interested in Sciences, Mathematics and Programming for childhood. He has attended and participated in various workshops of similar scientific interest. He is responsible for physics-maths literacy programs of our centre and technology integration.

 

Agathi Tsoroni                 Artist-Teacher of Fine Arts (B. A, M. A., PhD) 

Mrs. Tsoroni is a graduate of Fine Arts, and holds a Master (MA) as well as a Doctorate (PhD) degree in Art Didactics and Museum Education from the University of Birmingham (UK). 

For several years, she taught in the Greek Community School of Birmingham (all grades and adults). In Greece, she has taught the courses of “drawing & painting” at the Technological Educational Institution of Athens (Department of Conservation of Antiquities & Works of Art), at vocational training institutions and public schools as well, and she has arranged many art workshops for (pre)shoolers.

She has exhibited in Greece and Great Britain. She even studied in Paris in the art studio of the well-known recognized German artist Jochen Gerz.

She believes deeply that Arts contribute to the learning process, helping young people to use their imagination and creativity. She is associated with our centre in subject matters of Museum Education and Multiple Intelligences development.

 

Nina Drakou                  Foreign Languages Teacher (Β.Α., Μ.Α.)

Mrs Drakou is a graduate of the National-Kapodistrian University of Athens (Faculty of Philosophy-Department of French Language & Literature) with postgraduate studies in Spanish Translation (Faculty of Philosophy-Department of Spanish Language & Literature). She speaks four languages, and has translated quite a lot stories and fairy tales. 

The last fifteen years, she is very much involved in body expression and dance movement. She has even studied in Galena's Dance Studio, and has taught several groups of children at the dance studios of “Danza Latina Social Club” (Athens) as well as “Just Dance” (Kalamata). 

 

Amanda Smerla                Special Needs Teacher - Philologist (B.A. M.A.)

Mrs. Smerla is a graduate from the Department of Philology (Faculty of Humanities & Social Studies - University of Patras) and the Department of History, Archaeology and Cultural Resources Management (Faculty of Humanities and Cultural Studies - University of Peloponnese) as well, with postgraduate studies in Special Education (University of Peloponnese). 

She has rich teaching experience in language teaching at secondary schools, but recently she is involved in the development of socio-emotional skills for children-adults with special needs. She has attended and participated in various workshops and conferences. She is associated with our centre in conducting educational and/or diagnostic evaluation, and then monitoring individualized interventions.

 

Loukia Moutsoula                   Philologist-Educator (B.A.)

Mrs. Moutsoula is a graduate from the Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy & Psychology (Faculty of Philosophy-National/Kapodistrian University of Athens), and she is text editor for professional websites as well.

She has attended a two-year training program in psychotherapy and counseling, and has participated in several workshops for teamwork & group dynamics. She is an active member of groups self-expression, dance-movement and phonetics for singing, rhythm-tone.
